This small book is a catalog of an exhibit held at the Merced Multicultural Arts Center in March-April 2013. The paintings included are of locations regularly viewed by passersby, and are meant to spotlight the beauty and aesthetic interest these locations have. The exhibit also highlights the practice of painting outdoors on location and the history behind painting "en plein air."
I have been a plein air painter for more than ten years. I have lived in Yosemite National Park and at Yellowstone National Park, and have spent considerable time painting in these locations. However, I will, and do, paint wherever I am. I am a member of the California Art Club, Oil Painters of America, and the American Impressionist Society, and have participated in their exhibits.
