A collection of oral histories was assembled with the cooperation of senior Park County residents through the auspices of The Park County Historic Preservation Advisory Committee (PCHPAC), and the Park County Local History Archives.

A lot of the gaps in Park County's recorded history can be filled in by listening to the knowledgeable people who either lived here or who remember stories from parents, relatives or friends that grew up here.

This introduction to the Archives Oral History Program includes several areas with Park County. They are: The Elkhorn Ranches, Jefferson, Bailey, Hartsel, Fairplay, Mosquito Gulch, Glentivar, Como, Garo, Deer CreekValley. In addition, there are over seventy historic photos from the Archives included with the oral history excerpts.
