About the Book
Crater Lake and the Oregon Caves are two beautiful gems tucked into the southwest corner of Oregon. They are often overlooked in favor of 'bigger name' destinations. That is a mistake, since both have many scenic wonders and experiences to offer, and they deserve more attention. We have enjoyed several stays at both, and plan to return again soon.
I was born in Chicago, but have lived in Idaho for more than 35 years. This has given me the opportunity to explore the mountains and rivers of the American West. Whether hiking, rafting, or touring by car, I have always brought my camera along to capture the scenic wonders along the way. My home in Idaho Falls gives me the privilege of having Yellowstone National Park as my 'home field'. Yellowstone is a world-class site for both wildlife and geological features. The national park preserves the heart of the Yellowstone country in Wyoming, but the effects of the great Yellowstone volcanic system extend across Idaho and on into Montana. Many of my best photos and favorite memories originate in the greater Yellowstone region, and I hope to share them with as many people as possible.
