by Thomas Y. Wong
The characteristic of traditional Chinese literati painting is a combined fusion of poetry, prose, calligraphy and seal, along with the author's beliefs and emotion. Any photographic image that contains these unique elements, in part or in whole, can therefore be called 'Chinese literati photography.'
Thomas Wong was born in China, raised in Hong Kong and educated in Canada. Tom expresses an Oriental sensitivity to nature. His camera becomes an extension of his mind allowing him to create exquisite imagery of delicate beauty.
