Some truth & some fiction

About the Book
In November 2001 I came from a Swedish city with 300.000 people to Elroy, Wisconsin with only 1500. From a bustling city with everything to Small Town America with considerable less. But it was my choice. I wanted more out of life and I wanted more challenges. I put up my profile on a dating site and left it to destiny to chose my destination. It can sound strange to think like that when you are 55.
The way I saw it was that I had done a lot of things during the previous 25 years. In my family - we become about 85 years old. So, I could have another go at life for the next 25. After all, the two women I had loved, had both passed in cancer, so the least I could do was to make sure I at least tried to live my life here to the fullest.
This book is about lives lived and moments past in and around Elroy, Wisconsin. . Some stories are real, others I have made up.

The title is placed beneath the image to let the words interact with the design above – the viewer’s brain then produces the full picture. How long does it take me to make one of my pieces? A lifetime – all my experiences have shaped the way I create. In the 25 years since I started to paint, I have heard comments that my work looks like or reminds people of Picasso, Matisse, Monet, Jackson Pollack etc. While it could be regarded as flattering to be compared with such Masters, I should point out that I have never studied these artists’ ways of expressions. In fact, I have never attended an art class or studied art history. I did attend a drawing class briefly, to get the hang of how to draw the human body with correct proportions etc, but the class bored me and I left it….
