Back: Behind Da Bone is a journey full of unexpected twists, pauses and pops. Liam Morgan’s photographs of the band T-Bone have the feeling of a road trip in which you can’t quite make heads or tails of the scenery until you see it all in the rearview mirror. Then, the realization fully sinks in that you’ve just dropped in to spend several short days in the long life of Thailand’s best-known Ska-Reggae-Dub outfit.
If you’ve never been to a T-Bone gig, or seen Gap’s side project Ga-Pi, the book and film will put you right there; if you’ve already been to dozens, they’ll bring you right back. As Gap sings in the anthemic opening track with which T-Bone kick off their sets:
“Hello everybody! We are T-Bone. Enjoy with us… and enjoy yourself, man!”
