Mika thinks of herself as a timid shadow, and dresses the part as she passes through high school. Every morning is a struggle just for her to get up the nerves to go to school. If she thought her mom would let her run away from her problem, she would just stay home under her covers, if she could. But instead she pushes through the last day of class just under the radar before winter break. Yet before escaping unseen, TJ who has suddenly become heartbroken surprisingly asks if he can come over to her house to disappear from his family as well. Mika is taken aback by this request, but after all the kind things TJ has done for her, she agrees nonetheless.
After intentionally ignoring the twenty-one questions her mom throws at her when she walks in the door, about her handsome friend, Mika tries to settle in and relax. Within that moment she realizes that not only will her sister be home soon with her set of follow-up questions; plus she still has her mask on which she never takes off in front of anyone. What will she do? Whilst trying to figure it all out; Mika’s sister Tamari gets home, and not only yells at her about her stupid mask. But somehow convinces her to let TJ stay right through the entire holiday break, since Mika will be in their big home all alone.
Finally alone with TJ; things slowly heat up, and before they can get even hotter, a strange knock at the door sends things spiraling out of control. Who is this out of the ordinary, yet familiar man at the door? And where are all these random old memories coming from? Can Mika figure it all out before it’s too late…?
