Marvin (Ron) Sanders was born in the Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas on August 31, 1938. He moved with his parents and two brothers to Oregon in 1944 where they settled temporarily in Vanport, which was destroyed by a devastating flood. Just prior to the flooding, they moved to Roseburg, Oregon where he graduated in 1956. After spending a tour in the United States Navy, he eventually went to college and graduated from California State University, Fresno in 1974 with a degree in English. He spent two years teaching at Dinuba High School in Dinuba, California and one year in Turner, Oregon at Cascade Junior High. He has published poetry in All Around The Mulberry Bush under the pseudonym of Marv Sand. He also won the editor's choice in The Hand Of Destiny for his poem, Love. This is his first novel entitled A Burst of Silence.
