About the Book
Beauté Trouvé, a French translation for the phrase “Found Beauty”, epitomizes this illustrated series that merges the vintage beauties of the 1940s with the modern splendor of current fashion designers and their collections. The alluring actresses, featured in Beauté Trouvé, were individually matched to a specific designer that exemplified their personality and accentuated their natural radiance. Illustrated with Prismacolor pencils, the images were given a vintage sophistication through a transfer film technique that applied them to various panels of wood. The concept behind using the wood transfer technique was to provide the illustrations with the appearance that they were found objects, worn and weathered through time, promoting the vintage styles of the most famous names in fashion.
