Hello. We are Jon, Brian and Ian
Thanks so much for taking the time to learn more about our family. We are beyond excited to begin the journey of adoption a second time. We were blessed with the adoption of our son Ian in November of 2011, and we feel honored to be his parents every day. We can only imagine what this process may be like for you, but we hope you find some comfort in the process and know how much we respect and admire your selflessness.
We wish you all the best as you consider an adoption plan. Because we don’t want to miss your call, if you have any questions about our family, we would love to answer them through Hudson Valley Adoption Services at 1-866-241-ADOPT or our adoption attorney at (518) 225-2776.
After meeting on a blind date in 2004, we instantly hit it off and have been inseparable ever since. Jon is the quiet, gentle, witty, and academic half of our relationship, and Brian is the funny, outgoing, caring, and constantly moving half. Jon is a walking library and record store, constantly consuming the latest book or discovering new music before anyone else. Brian is constantly on the go, whether it is playing in his basketball or soccer leagues, or arranging play dates with our friends and their children.
We love hiking, camping, and just about anything outdoors. We are very active and cannot wait to enjoy our favorite pastimes with our children.
Jon is a high school math teacher and Brian is a middle school special education teacher. We both absolutely love what we do. We are so fortunate to have a job we look forward to going to every day, not to mention having vacations, snow days, and whole summers to spend together as a family. Having children in our lives in this capacity continues to be incredibly rewarding, and only strengthens the appreciation for the joys of raising Ian and hopefully another child very soon.
Our home is a short walk away from a spacious park, several restaurants and shops, an award winning elementary school, the state museum and capital, the public library, and best of all, many of our closest friends and their children. We love making an adventure out of each day, and feel privileged our family has such a close-knit group of friends to grow up with!
Ian is a very active little man! He is very confidant, curious, and funny. He is always on the go, but also loves to tell us “sit!” as he brings us one of his favorite books to read.
He attends a local day care center that he loves. We love it for the wonderful socialization and sense of independence that we feel will serve children well throughout their life.
While we are both are doting dads, Jon is the go to man when Ian feels like dancing, and he knows Brian will chase him around for hours on end. We look forward to sharing our family life with another child and to re-discover the everyday joy that is parenthood.
Our families are a diverse mix of personalities, all which blend together to make the most loving and welcoming family for children. We both grew up with amazing role models as parents, fun loving siblings, and a large community of family friends. We feel so lucky to pass these qualities on to our own children and cannot wait to welcome another bundle of joy into the mix!
Brian’s mother Mary comes Wednesday nights to have some special quality grandma time. She is a natural with kids and they are mesmerized by her loving and zany games! We also go to Brian’s parents’ house almost every weekend to visit with his parents, brother Josh, and very special sister Darcey.
Jon’s parents also come to visit regularly as well. They are the most kind and caring grandparents and Ian has always been drawn to them. They share Jon’s gentle personality and are such positive role models for all children.
We visit Jon’s family in Michigan and Chicago a couple times every year as well. We love this special time with Jon’s parents, sister, brother and our nieces and nephews. We are thrilled at the idea for all the special trips we will make to watch all the cousins grow up together.
We would love nothing more than to share our lives with another child. It would be a privilege to add more laughter, learning, and most importantly love to our home.
Thank so much for taking a minute to learn more about our family. We would love to get to know you in whatever way would be most comfortable for you. We thank you again for considering our family during this very special time, and we wish you well on your journey.
