The man in the image on the cover of 7 Photo Essays in many ways mirror the photographer Steven Nestor. A statuesque figure, pondering his surroundings from a point of observation with a subtle cool collectedness.

7 Photo Essays offer readers a personal and honest account of the roving photographer and his camera. Memories and literary references weave together revealing the photographers creative process. There is a personable clarity in the words which bring the reader closer to the images.

These images we know are hard-earned. Nestor is a dedicated photographer and scours his surroundings for answers to questions we share.
