About the Book
I think it was my Uncle in Canada who sent me a little twin lens camera when I was six and I remember even way back then, I'm forty-six now, being fascinated by the picture taking process. With my new camera I became obsessed with the idea of taking pictures of the parrot which lived in the pet shop next to our house. I went on an on until they owner gave in and brought the bird outside in its cage.
I still get that feeling of eager anticipation and excitement when I plan to take photographs. We now own an African Grey Parrot 'Marvin' and so there can be little doubt in my mind that we are shaped by our early life experiences.
I've served my apprenticeship. And now I take this brief look back as my way of preparing for the real work ahead.
