On December 30, 2010 a camera was placed at the entrance of Lily and Hope´s den. It was the beginning of a new wild ride with these wild black bears in the Northwoods of Minnesota.
The roller coaster of emotions experienced with Lily and little Hope in the Spring and Summer of 2010 was about to give us the exceptional opportunity to learn from a mixed age litter in the winter of 2011. Lily was expected to give birth to new cubs with yearling Hope by her side.
Thanks to the daily updates of Dr. Lynn Rogers and Sue Mansfield through April 2, 2011 and the amazing effort made by the den cam team, who worked so hard to overcome the many difficulties in order to provide live stream video from the remote location of Lily and Hope´s den, we were privileged to witness, study and learn from this rare experience.
Lily, Hope, Jason and Faith turned our questions, uncertainties and fears those first days of January into knowledge, hopes and dreams by the time they left the den for good.
It was an unforgettable winter, another fairy tale that will touch the hearts of those who read and learn about it.
