A collection of photographs of life along the Amazon River. This book captures how people live, play, and travel. Photographs were taken near Manaus, Brazil during various seasons.
I grew up in Brazil, living for a few years in the city of Altamira, deep in the Amazon jungle. Altamira lies on the banks of the Xingu river, one of the main tributaries of the Amazon River. I came back to the United States at the age of 16, completed college, and followed a career in business. I have gone back to Brazil as an adult several times, and assembled a collection of photographs that I am now sharing with friends and family through this new book.
