About the Book
My grandparents immigrated from Canada in the early part of the 20th century relocating in New Hampshire, than moving to the paper mill town of Westbrook, Maine where they raised eleven children. During their stay in Westbrook they lived in a single tax colony where residents paid a small rent and a land value tax on their property. The book follows the St.Cyr family from Canada to Westbrook detailing their movements, work history, interviews from children with family stories, documentation from city records describing the colony, social and military contributions including actual notes from WWII POW family members.
