The book is about the lives of Saudi Arabian women in the United Kingdom. I interviewed fourteen Saudi Arabian women living in the UK.
The aim of this book is to shed light on Saudi women who are living in the UK. My camera was my visual diary in this journey; the photographs investigated the relationship between the women and their places and their personal belongings. I believe photographing their spaces and their natural surroundings enabled me to express their characters, and therefore portray the aspects of their personalities.
In consideration of the differences between Arabic Islamic culture and Western culture, I asked them about their opinions of life outside Saudi Arabia, the differences between living in the UK and living in Saudi Arabia. Finally, what had changed for them since they moved to the UK and how do they now perceive their homeland.
