This illustrated book is about happy eyes.
It gives you a closer look into a group of birds that is simply fond of happy eyes. Nosy birds. Bright birds which nature is to look around and wonder about the common and uncommon details in life which we tend to overlook these days.
I co-created (my pre-school daughter made the first sketch) the birds while realizing we keep forget to take our time using our eyes for visualizing delightful daily details. Things that are simply next to us, above us, around us every day.
I guess we feel the growing absence of the day to day wondering and observation of our real life. This is often caused by the magnetic pool of the digital world, which constantly demands our attention. In the end we lose touch with our tangible world.
As a matter of fact we did not choose to become robots.
Nevertheless, most of us are basically equipped with crisp eyes and a good sense of curiosity. And these are exactly the two exquisite qualities of the nosy birds. They show us how to experience their visual world: amazingly, unexpectedly and bright. Finally, to please their eyes. And yours. Hope you will see and enjoy it.
From the age of 4 years onwards, I am drawing, painting and art painting. After working for many years in several areas of the marketing and creative industry, I have decided to use my inspiration and creativity in the art of painting. Nosybirds is a product of my independent thinking and creativity, enjoying life in my hometown Amsterdam and my pure passion for bright colors. In addition to the painting, I also add great significance to the unusual ideas and messages behind it. I hope my paintings bring across some useful inspirations to the viewers.”
