About the Creator
Chris Clemes Rodmakers was formed in 2009 by Chris Clemes, but when you include the combined experience of the artisans who work on Chris Clemes bamboo rods and reels, the company boasts 150 years of premium fly tackle expertise. It’s a tradition that was almost lost. Chris, a fly fishing nut who had worked for some of the fly fishing world’s giant companies, grew disillusioned with the mass produced, cheap tackle flooding the market. Realising that bamboo rodmaking is a dying art in England with very few young craftsmen nowadays willing to continue the traditions and preserve the skills which made English made products so famous, Chris’s vision was to bring England’s finest fly rod and reel makers together in their workshops in an effort to combine their skills and preserve the heritage of English rod and reel making by providing them with an international market place.
