Faces of Celebration is a collection of photographs taken at festivals throughout Peru in 2008, including the annual rebuilding of the Keshwa Chaca - the last remaining Inca straw bridge, the remarkable Festival de Tinajani - which attracts dancers and musicians from Peru, Bolivia, and Chile, and the numerous traditional and religious events in the streets and plazas of Cusco.

As I attempted to document the spirit and action of these celebrations, the images also captured the determination and focus, the exhaustion and pain, the humor and mystery, and the enthusiasm and joy on the faces of the participants. But more often than not, they recorded the ubiquitous smiles of the Peruvian people.
