This book is the third in the Travel Tales series to cover Yellowstone National Park and Yellowstone's volcanic connections to Idaho. The focus of this book is on the Upper Geyser Basin, the 'Home Office' of the world's great geysers. This magical square mile contains over 1/4 of all the world's geysers, and nearly 2/3 of those that erupt consistently over 50 feet high! The Upper Geyser Basin is truly one of the world's natural wonders.
I was born in Chicago, but have lived in Idaho for more than 35 years. This has given me the opportunity to explore the mountains and rivers of the American West. Whether hiking, rafting, or touring by car, I have always brought my camera along to capture the scenic wonders along the way. My home in Idaho Falls gives me the privilege of having Yellowstone National Park as my 'home field'. Yellowstone is a world-class site for both wildlife and geological features. The national park preserves the heart of the Yellowstone country in Wyoming, but the effects of the great Yellowstone volcanic system extend across Idaho and on into Montana. Many of my best photos and favorite memories originate in the greater Yellowstone region, and I hope to share them with as many people as possible.
