About the Book
A publication, also in e-book format, to accompany the exhibition, 'in perspextive', at the Royal Scottish Academy, showing work by 45 artists, some well known and established, others younger at the start of their careers; some are members of the RSA, some belong to the tapestry group STAR*, while others are connected to the Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop. Many of the exhibitors share a common background, having studied at one of the four Scottish art colleges. With close to 100 artworks, uniform perpex boxes act as a unifying device and the publication includes a pertinent and thought provoking essay 'on boxes' by Gordon Brennan who graduated in Tapestry and is now Head of Painting at Edinburgh College of Art, The University of Edinburgh. Each artist has two images in the catalogue - one of the artist in their studio, one of an example of their work, along with brief biographical information.
