My portraits consist of one subject and her environment. The entire project is based on my first experience with lighting and photography. As I captured her revealing herself, she took control of how she wanted to be perceived by the viewer. It's about being you in an unfamiliar and uncomfortable place. Her actions in the frames and the way I shot them show the connection between her, the surroundings, the camera, and me. I asked this to take place at her house to allow her to be more comfortable in her own environment, which allowed her to open up and feel un-threatened.
