The photographic art of Gérard is compelling.
You stop. You stare. His subject is the human male figure.
We see dozens, if not hundreds of such photographs daily; not much of it is art.
With its careful attention to light, shadow, focus, and subject matter, Gérard’s work grabs us by the lapels, and we know we are seeing quality.
Such a pleasure one gets from these works of art; we sense instinctively that creative talent lies behind the lens.
It’s a wonderful experience.
Gérard Goutel was born in 1955 in Paris, and is currently living near Vendôme, a picturesque city near the Loire River. He is a Theatre Director and Actor. Always interested in photography, a few years ago he began his photo work with human models and now specialises in male portraits and nudes. Most of the models he chooses are average men because he believes and demonstrates that everybody is photogenic and can be beautiful. The secret of a photograph is in the eye of the photographer.
