Portraits collected by photographer Deane Patterson of Maungaturoto residents. The town is celebrating it's 150th anniversary, and the portraits of locals were shot within 2 months before the celebrations. This collection represents nearly 20% of the town's population and reflects the culture and style of a typical rural New Zealand town in the early 21st Century.
I create film and photography projects full time, and also edit a local newspaper because I have so much free time (NOT!). I love to tell people's stories. It's a compulsion I gladly pursue to the ends of the earth, because love fires my heart for people all around the world.
