About the Book
Oxford Street, July/August 2013 - I covered Oxford Street with my camera from Marble Arch to Tottenham Court Road on fourteen very hot, sunny days this Summer.
I hope the photographs will give some sense of the exhilaration of being there, and provide the means to pause, draw back, enjoy and examine the physical interactions, the adornments and the artifacts promenaded down this haphazardly diverse London thoroughfare.
I was born in 1939 in Dundee, South Africa. I left South Africa for London in 1961 where I worked in temporary employment and studied art part time, returning to South Africa with a new family in 1966. I lived in Cape town from 1970 until 1980 where I studied Fine Art and Photography and worked as a Printer in Magazine Publishing. I returned permanently to London in 1980 and worked in positions allied to the Printing Industry. I am now retired and concentrate on my art and photography.
