About the Book
I am a teenage photographer, working as a part time photographer in a fair-trade photography organization called FairMail, having the longing of becoming scientist in future. Here you see some photos out of my whole collection of photos which I took.
The photos in this book have been taken over a 18 month period. These all photos are mostly taken in Varanasi; however some of them are also taken in Darjeeling and Uttarakhand too. I tried to put as much variety of photos as I could in the book. I’ve never had a public exposure of my photos like this before, so it is very exciting for me to know what people think about my photos.
I am a teenager, so I gave the name “World Through Teenage Eyes” to the book. My main motive is to make the people feel good when they see my images. I also want to share my perspective towards this world as a photographer with people.
FairMail is a company producing fair trade photos made in Peru, Morocco and India. The photos are all taken by Indian, Moroccan and Peruvian underprivileged teenagers. FairMail offers this youth photography training, part-time work, medical insurance and guidance in making their future plans. The teenagers get 50% of the profits of the sale of their own photos to finance their housing and education.
