Provoking discussions about representation,these self-portraits made by Sylvaine Soldano are expressing dance gesture and try to capture subtleties of a woman facing/dancing intensity and ephemeral aspect of life.
Sylvaine is a dancer,choreographer,performer based in Paris and Stockholm. Since a few years ,she's living permanently in Africa for personal reasons. Working on her self-portraits through different media such as photography ,video ,drawing and painting. Producing works for international festivals or intimate audience. Inviting worldwide artists to share innovative vernissage and performances at home and in urban landscape with her pictorial work. Over the years,she has danced for several dance companies all around the world.However,since 2009,she has developped as a solo artist her own dance pieces,exploring new patterns and media,breaking habits in mouvements,looking for endless possibilities in opening new channels with mind and body,facing the world.
