Provoking discussions about representation,these self-portraits made by Sylvaine Soldano are expressing dance gesture and try to capture subtleties of a woman facing/dancing intensity and ephemeral aspect of life.
Sylvaine is a dancer and choreographer based in Paris and Stockholm. Since a few years ,she's living permanently in Africa for personal reasons. Working with different media such as photography,video,cinema. Producing works for international festivals or intimate audience. Over the years,she has danced for several dance companies all around the world.However,since 2009,she has developped as a solo artist her own dance pieces,exploring new patterns,breaking habits in mouvements,looking for endless possibilities in dancing,opening mind and body,facing the world.
