Twelve drawings done in 1993 for the TIME BOMB SERIES, TB VI. This is one of several series done between 1990 and 2000 of oil and gas terminals, tank farms, factories and other industrial locations that posed a threat to the environment in the latter half of the twentieth century. The "frottage" method used in these drawings, invented by Max Ernst in the 1920's, was inspired by Robert Rauschenburg's 1960's political drawings, and is accomplished by reverse-burnishing a turpentine-soaked printed image onto heavy watercolor paper. The transfer is then enhanced with watercolor and acrylic paint.
