Doki Doki: The Manchester Japanese Festival is a celebration of both traditional and modern Japanese culture that takes place once every two years in Sugden Sports Centre, Manchester. On Saturday 9th November 2013 I attended this incredible event for the first time and had the privilege to experience the excitement and diversity of Japanese culture, with the event showcasing everything from traditional Japanese practices such as ninjitsu and taiko drumming to more modern aspects of Japanese culture like cosplay, Harajuku fashion and J-pop. During the thrilling one day event I took many photos and here I present the best of the lot in one volume for your enjoyment, with images of cosplayers, people in Harajuku dress, internet star Beckii Cruel, the maids of the Sweet Cupcake Maid Cafe, the ninjitsu masters of Circle Martial Arts and the talented taiko drummers of Kayobi Taiko. I'm already looking forward to the next Doki Doki and, hopefully, after seeing the photos within, you may be too.
