About the Book
When Sheldon unfolds a fortune cookie message that promises "You will find what you are missing, you will reunite with someone from your past," he is immediately convinced that his twin brother, Liam, is still alive.
Set in sleepy Abbotsford, British Columbia, Forget Me Not follows the unexpected friendship forged between precocious 10-year-old Sheldon and his neighbour, 72-year-old Millie. Despite the generations and emotional geography that separates them, they find a bond in their grief. Millie has just lost her husband of 48 years while Sheldon is struggling to make sense of Liam's recent drowning at Harrison Lake.
Both misunderstood and socially awkward, Millie and Sheldon become an invincible force and find solace in secret correspondence, a love of Nancy Drew novels, fortune cookies, their own detective work and memory keeping.
In their secret letters, Sheldon is able to confess The Terrible Thing to Millie. But as a twin, Sheldon's intuition convinces him that Liam is very much alive.
Millie becomes instrumental in the shocking twist that ruptures family trust and disrupts Sheldon's unswerving faith in Liam coming back.
Forget Me Not is an emotionally intense testament to the fragility of the human spirit, and the anchor that is found in love and friendship.

Jules Torti
Galt, Ontario, Canada
Jules Torti's humble beginnings stem back to grade three when she wrote her autobiography (a detailed chronicle of tadpole catching and Poptart-eating with her wanderlust dog companion, Xanadu). She feeds her blog Alphabet Soup regularly with posts from the extremes of volunteering with chimps in Africa to surviving a hurricane-force windstorm-sandstorm-blizzard in Iceland. Choosing to write about only the best things in life--travel, books, spas, cocktails and bacon, she has been published in The Vancouver Sun, NOW, Matador Network, Mabuhay (the official in-flight magazine of the Phillipines), Massage Therapy Canada and Canadian Running. She lives in Galt, Ontario in a 150-year-old stone cottage on the Grand river with her true love.
