Over the past 20 years I have spent a lot of time photographing wildlife in wilderness areas in the Western United States and Canada. Up until now, my books have been simply photos of those journeys.
However, with every photo comes a story. I have told some of those stories many times in conversations. I have been asked many times, "Why not share your stories in a book?" So, here it is. This is a collection of some of my favorite stories and the photos which were the result of those stories.
All photos are from the wild – no zoos, no wildlife “farms” or ranches – no remote motion-sensor cameras, no tracking dogs, no electronic tracking devices, no “traps.” All wildlife photos are simply photographed as predator and/or prey as found naturally in the wild. Photos are untouched and appear as seen through the lens.
Dennis Widman, Exclusively Wildlife Photos
After 15 years of being an avid flyfisherman, I found myself spending more time photographing bears, moose, elk, and wolves that I came across while I was fishing. After a week long fishing trip to Canada I realized that I had not put my fly rod in the water once. I knew then that Wildlife Photography was more than incidental.
