I have visited Yellowstone for 38 years, and I still have not seen all areas of the park. But I have been fortunate enough to see and experience far more than most people! So I invite you to share some of the many experiences I have enjoyed in the Yellowstone country. This book is part nature guide, part travelogue, part photo collection, and part the ramblings of an old geezer not quite ready for the rocking chair! Yellowstone is a huge subject, so its Travel Tales continue in Travel Tales: Yellowstone, Too! and in Travel Tales: Yellowstone, the Upper Geyser Basin..
I was born in Chicago, but have lived in Idaho for more than 35 years. This has given me the opportunity to explore the mountains and rivers of the American West. Whether hiking, rafting, or touring by car, I have always brought my camera along to capture the scenic wonders along the way. My home in Idaho Falls gives me the privilege of having Yellowstone National Park as my 'home field'. Yellowstone is a world-class site for both wildlife and geological features. The national park preserves the heart of the Yellowstone country in Wyoming, but the effects of the great Yellowstone volcanic system extend across Idaho and on into Montana. Many of my best photos and favorite memories originate in the greater Yellowstone region, and I hope to share them with as many people as possible.
