About the Book
Crossing the Digital Divide is a non-profit organization with the specific goal of closing the economic and cultural divide by bringing technology to some of the most at risk in our society, namely, people in recovery.
The key to CDD’s success over the past ten years has been the vital partnerships formed with the drug and alcohol recovery centers with whom we work. These partners work closely with CDD Staff while their clients (our students) attend the CDD Computer Training Program. This partnership offers each student greater support and oversight. CDD’s labs are located inside these recovery centers, allowing us to work with the students while they are sober and working toward a change in lifestyle. That support is important. Not only are the students dealing with the challenges of recovery, but some are facing reentry after 25 years in prison. .
