This new building will complement the existing buildings at the farm, matching the scale, style and materials as closely as allowed by current regulations. The building’s interior will be energy efficient and environmentally controlled to extend the life of its contents as long as technically possible.
It is planned that financing of the building will be accomplished through a combination of private donations and public grants. The Society’s active and experienced volunteer corps will defray a significant portion of the cost with in-kind donations of materials and labor, while other aspects of the construction will be accomplished through services provided by local contractors.
The Society is energized to meet the numerous technical and financial challenges necessary to bring the vision of this facility to fruition.
