Black box trees fulfill a vital role on the Murray-Darling Basin floodplains, marking the outer extent of larger floods, and surviving long dry spells between floods. Anne Jensen shares everything she learnt about black box trees in her PhD study on the Murray River floodplain in South Australia, including the habits and features of these important trees and their amazing life history. There is also a smaller, slightly shorter version of the book (see smaller size).
Ecologist Dr Anne Jensen combines her professional interest in wetlands and rivers with her personal interest in photography and history while visiting many interesting places. Her husband’s interest in clay target shooting takes them to international destinations off the beaten tourist track, and Anne explores and photographs the local natural and historical sites. Her books share her journeys of exploration and discovery, with evocative photographs which highlight the beauty of places visited, with a special interest in local wetland sites.
