This book is the culmination of a nearly year-long project that originally was expected to take just a month. Who would have thought it would be so time consuming to take pictures and write descriptions for just 20 cocktails!? We wanted to produce a book that could just as easily sit on a coffee table as on the kitchen counter, and would be educational, both in terms of introducing the reader to some essential cocktail recipes and also teaching proper preparation techniques. The recipes in this book are adapted from a variety of sources and, as is the case in many cocktail books, tuned to suit our own personal taste. Our goal here is not to be historically accurate or attempt to give the definitive recipe for a given cocktail. We also discuss at several points how recipes may be modified to better match your own preferences.
