About the Book
The key idea behind (de)nude(d) dance is to blend the grace and strength of nude dance with the intrigue and sensuality of (un)covered female body. It may happen within the same photo or as a result of diptychs (thank you, Helmut!) and triptychs, which all have in common the contrast between “normal” dance dressing and “not so normal” dance nudity.
The covered part of the body inevitably focuses attention on the naked part and its action, and the freedom in the choice and pose of the naked part conveys the sense of captivating “unexpected”.
And when delivered in a language made of rigorous and essential shapes and framing, all this makes my strong statement against what “Fine Art Nude” is too often supposed to be - a narrow and suffocating paradigm I refuse, fighting it from within.
Born in Seregno - Milan, between the hills and the city, in 1963, I nurture a life-long passion for photography. After first experiences with the family’s Ferrania, photography stays in the background for a long time, while another great passions brings me to study and work in information technology. A long stay in the United States in the early 90s and the following frequent travels across Europe draw my interest to travel and architecture photography. High-quality digital photography enables me to merge these two great passions, in a photographic style which joins rigorous frame composition with a light-touch, always hand-made post production. In 2011 I start working mainly in studio, on a project which creatively joins dance and nude photography.
