Originally published in June 2013, this catalog accompanied an exhibition by the same name at the Old Spouter Gallery, Nantucket MA, in August of 2013. Documenting an evolving body of work in drawing, lithography and photography, In the Garden brings this new series of work to life. Michael Rich is an internationally exhibiting painter known primarily for large, colorful abstractions of landscape and light. This new (and continuing) work is a departure toward the intimate world of his garden found outside his summer studio on Nantucket. More information about the artist and the exhibition can be found at www.michael-rich.com.
