An approach to slow dyeing using the food preserving techniques of our grandmothers
together with ecoprint bundle dyeing - an exquisitely simple means of giving complex colour to cloth and paper using relatively modest quantities of plant material that has become extraordinarily popular around the world.
I dye cloth and paper using ecologically sustainable contact printing methods [from plants and found objects] working with leaves, flowers, bark, stones, water, minerals, bones, the discarded artefacts and hard detritus of human inhabitation, the local weed burden. I hand sew clothes that are sold through a sweet store in Hollywood. In between times I write poetry and keep the cows on their toes by playing the saxophone. The work of each day literally begins with a walk.
