A journalist for 25 years with various Western Canada daily newspapers and magazines and for past 20 years a visual artist in Atlantic Canada, as well as part time art instructor at private workshops and university.
A graduate of Nova Scotia College of Art & Design, majoring in painting and printmaking. Hainstock is the author and illustrator for an award-winning, best-selling book on rural architectural heritage.
