About the Book
This book is a catalog of the juried art exhibit, “CWCA Water A Universal Right”. Historically, women have played a central role in water provision and management and must continue to be a catalyst in planning for the future. Artist subject matter may include but is not limited to:
• Water as metaphor
• Water reclamation, sustainability, use, abuse
• Agricultural conflicts
• Ocean and waterway pollution from coal mining, mountaintop removal
• Controversial process of fracking
The Chicago chapter of the national WCA art organization. The Women’s Caucus for Art (WCA), founded in 1972 in connection with the College Art Association (CAA), is a national member organization unique in its multi-disciplinary, multicultural membership of artists, art historians, students, educators and museum professionals. Chicago Women’s Caucus for Art (CWCA), the WCA Chicago chapter established in 1973 is committed to supporting women in the arts.
