About the Book
Since the devastating 2004 Tsunami, Banda Aceh and its surrounding areas are almost completely rebuilt. For more than 8 years, the people of Aceh and the Government, with the assistance from the global communities were doing their best to build a new life. The disaster could also be seen as a blessing in disguise as it expedited the peace agreement between the government of Indonesia and the Free Aceh Movement (GAM). Today, businesses are thriving, travellers are flocking, and the streets are busy once again. While the buildings and businesses are rebuilt, the broken hearts will surely take a long time to heal.
