About the Book
Irvine Brook was a teenager when WWII broke out. He signed up to the RAF as soon as he could, with the dream of becoming a "glory-boy fighter pilot". His training took him to Canada and after a mishap or two he became a pilot not of fighters, but Dakotas. His active service saw him flying his beloved planes over Burma, battling treacherous weather and dropping supplies. This is his account of his war experience: written in his own words in 2011.
