About the Book
This started as a project to add focus to my photography efforts and find sources of inspiration. It was a 2nd attempt as the previous year stalled about 2/3 of the way in. The self-imposed rules of the project were just that the photo had to be taken that day and be published through Instagram.
One fun aspect of this project is that it started inspiring me to find something new in scenes that I saw everyday (mostly, as you’ll see a couple of notable exceptions); some of my friends and on-line fan-base started following my efforts and provided encouragement.
The 1st image was taken on January 1, while scouting out locations with a friend who was visiting from Connecticut. On December 31, I shot the last of the series on a hike through Leominster State Forest with a friend, who lives in Japan. In between there were 363 shots ranging from my commute, to Fingall’s Cave on Staffa island and lots in between.
I hope you enjoy this excerpt from my 2013 Instagram project, as much as I do.
