When Nick and I got married, it was an event, starting with a country song we wrote on the banjo and then sang in cowboy hats and ending with an evening full of swing dancing and everyone on their feet!
My Mom said it was the best day of her life, and that is saying a lot. She had a full, rich life and I'm so glad she love our wedding so much. I know I wasn't nervous or stressed (except when we were almost late). I had a blast!
Bryan Murray took amazing photos, and I've put together a wedding album of all the fun!
Betina Hershey Russo has always made up songs and poetry. She began journaling in 3rd grade, and got truly serious about poetry when she took Creative Writing from Tom Feigelson at LaGuardia H.S. She was an editor and contributor to her H.S. and college poetry review. She has written 5 childrens musicals, 4 CD collections of songs, and taken much joy in getting everyone around her to write poem and songs as well. For a living, Betina toured the world as Meg in Phantom of the Opera, Anybodys in West Side Story, Jackie in Pump Boys and Dinettes, Isabel in The Pirates of Penzance, and now she runs The Garden Players Musical Theater Program for Kids in Forest Hills, Queens. You can also find her teaching or performing swing dancing with her brother Shawn, and she has been brought to Bermuda to teach the president of the Bank of Bermuda to swing dance, a Parliament member to Tango Dance, and the head of the electric company to Merengue.
