Letha Carrico Wood has a diverse background in the culinary field. She is passionate about teaching food preservation as a logical extension of gardening. The preserving methods she teaches include canning, freezing, drying, root cellaring, and even using the European rum pot. She has written and illustrated a friendly, helpful, encouraging instructional book for the novice preserver. Subsequent books featuring advanced canning and other methods of preserving are in the works. The methods she teaches are easy to understand and to follow, and her illustrations are vibrant and delightful.
