Controlled breathing is essential for people who use their voice as a tool in their profession. Whether they are singers, teachers, lawyers, judges, politicians or CEOs, they need to control their voice.
Controlling our breathing helps self-control, boosting self-confidence, which in turn helps dealing with terror of speaking in public.
This booklet explains in a very simple way how breathing works, and gives some simple exercises on controlling it.
I live and work in Athens, Greece, as a professional flute player and teacher. A member of the Greek Radio Symphony Orchestra for many years, of various chamber ensembles, and performing solo with orchestras, I also trained as a Montessori teacher, a formation that helped me understand better and support, the individualities or my flute students.
