Photographs of the spectacular northern shore of Lake Superior, including its rivers and canyons, made in one of the coldest winters in recent memory. Stunning images of snow, ice, water, sun, clouds capture winter's glory in one of the most beautiful but largely undiscovered parts of North America.
I’ve been actively photographing landscapes since my undergraduate years at MIT in the late 1960's. My career has involved worldwide travel, which has enabled me to make photographs throughout much of Europe and Aisa. But the USA is my first love. Each year, my wife, Susan, and I drive across the country between our residence in the San Francisco Bay Area and a second home in Massachusetts on Buzzards Bay. This has afforded ample opportunity for photography in almost every state between the coasts, and especially in National Parks. This was my first visit to Minnesota’s spectacular north coast of Lake Superior. I am eager to return.
