This is a selection of my poems or textoetry as I call it, along with my very own artwork.
The whole process of being a wife, mother, student and artist offers many possibilities especially with items that are tossed aside, no longer wanted, or just used on a daily basis without a second thought. Seeing the world with both a nostalgic and modern eye gives opportunities to forge pieces triggering memories and emotions for the audience to experience. My practice concentrates on domestication where I consider routines, rituals and mundane actions that have been used for performance, sculptures and installations. This yearning for nostalgia has been developed over time as I come from a strong mining community in Nottingham where families and neighbours helped each other, and out of which came a comforting community spirit, and which I aim to convey within my work.
